Serving on the Poudre Heritage Alliance Board (PHA) for over 5 years and as the Chair of the Board it has been fulfilling to be a part of the educational process that allows future generations to understand the value of our watershed.

The Poudre Heritage Alliance serves the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area, to build a deeper understanding of the Poudre River’s national significance including its role in influencing water law, development, and management.

What I appreciate about our programs most, is the field trips that we facilitate for school children. It is these experiences that will inspire conservation and forge stronger connections to both nature and our shared river history. When students get to see the river for themselves at a young age, it can help them grow up appreciating having the Cache la Poudre River in their backyard.
